Arkansas State’s System President Dr. Chuck Welch spoke openly on Thursday about the school’s pursuit of more revenue, exposure and resources. It may be that ASU is making in known that they are available on the conference realignment market.

HERE is an article from AStateNation.com.

North Texas, Middle Tennessee State, Florida International and Florida Atlantic will all bolt in coming years for Conference USA. The move will leave the Sun Belt with eight football playing members.

Dennis Dodd of CBSsports.com reports that Idaho, New Mexico State and Georgia Southern are on the Sun Belt’s radar as potential replacements. New Mexico State and Western Kentucky have emerged as the next schools to potentially jump to C-USA.

Remaining Sun Belt Conference teams:

Georgia State (2013)

Louisiana-Lafayette

Louisiana-Monroe

Troy

Western Kentucky

Arkansas State

South Alabama

Arkansas Little-Rock (non-football)

Texas State (2013)

Texas-Arlington (2013, non-football)
