Yenser opts for Cal, Troy hunts replacement

First, sorry for the lack of posts recently. Between Christmas, New Year’s and an engagement, it has been a little hectic.

I’m not a huge web surfer, so the majority of the news that comes my way is via folks in the know. I did find out at the Troy-UALR basketball game that Zach Yenser, has opted to follow former Troy offensive coordinator Tony Franklin to the University of California. Troy was set to hire Yenser (the hire may have very well have already been official, but no announcement was ever made by the university) as John Schlarman’s replacement as offensive line coach. Yenser will serve as the Golden Bears O-line coach.

Yenser played for the Trojans from 2003-2006. A source close to the program tells me head coach Larry Blakeney is close to having the position filled already.

HERE is an article from SBNation detailing the hire.
